To the right is a full version of the documentary, which is also found on Netflix. I recommend it, as it is one of my favorite documentaries, if not my favorite; I have seen a lot of documentaries.
Project Reflection
Did you meet the project objectives? Please explain how your political cartoon gets you message across to your intended audience.
I feel that I met the project objectives. This is shown by the creation of a political cartoon that I feel proud of. The one shown is my 3rd draft. My first draft was a bunch of statistics and graphs; the day before the project was due, I figured out that I really didn't like what I had. The second draft was similar to the final (above), but less polished. The final draft shows the relationship between the different energy sources environmental impact, shown in CO2 emissions per unit of energy. The hand of big oil and big coal is flicking a spinner which will land on one of the energy options shown. Coal is the fastest-growing energy resource in the world.
How can information be shared artistically?
Information can be shared artistically in many ways. Film is the most prevalent, but still works are still prevalent. One can also use music and speech. Language defines itself, how is that not art? It is just collaboration.
How does creating art differ from viewing art?
Making art is harder because you have to make the audience understand what you are saying. Viewing art can be difficult because one wants to find meaning.
